Ten Digit Creations

Hello all!

Today I want to give a little shoutout to the company Ten Digit Creations.

adfe3aeI’ve ordered from them a few times to get wax tarts, but this is the first time I’ve used their bath and body products.

To the review!

Liquid Hand Soap: This is perhaps my favorite indie liquid soap I’ve tried so far. It feels moisturizing and makes a good amount of bubbles. The only downside: It doesn’t come with a pump. You can order one for an extra $1 and change, though. The Avocado & Sea Salt fragrance is an excellent clean scent.

Shampoo: This paraben-free shampoo really cleaned my hair well, and felt as nice going in as a commercial shampoo. I got the scent Fresh Bamboo, because I wanted a clean scent that wasn’t overpowering.

Leave-in Conditioner: I really like this spray-in conditioner! It doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves it feeling bouncy and looking shiny. I got the scents Beach Towels and Fresh Bamboo (to match the shampoo scent).

Shea Butter Lotion: This is Ten Digit Creations’ lighter lotion. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t leave a sticky finish. The Green Tea & Willow scent is clean and a bit perfume-y.

Whipped Body Butter: The Ten Digits’ body butter is very, very thick, so it feels more like a winter lotion than one for summer. It goes on pretty smoothly but does leave a bit of a waxy sort of finish once you rub it in, which I’m not a huge fan of. Still, it is quite moisturizing.

I also got some room sprays, which have great lasting power!

All in all, I quite enjoyed my purchases, and I definitely want more of the shampoo and hand soap.

Bumblesoaps Christmas Box

Bumblesoaps Christmas Box

I got my Bumblesoaps Christmas box today! Bumblesoaps is an indie bath and body store that makes amazing stuff. (I know this site is “unskewed reviews, but hey, this place is a favorite.) They have seasonal boxes available at different times of the year. I got their previous Halloween box as well. I pre-ordered this Christmas one to make sure I got one, as there were only 300 total available!

The box!

The box!

Box Contents:

Bee Sanitized hand sanitizer in “Christmas Cabin”: This is my least favorite item. The smell is very Christmasy, but also very masculine at the same time. It reminds me of what a grandpa might like to wear for a fancy cologne. It’s not by any means a “bad” smell, it’s just not for me. It’s very heavy on the bayberry, with some cinnamon and citrus in there as well.

Cuticle Butter in “Cranberry Cobbler”: The cinnamon is really strong in this one! It reminds me of orange spiced tea. The cranberry is pretty faint. The actual product is excellent, and I love that it’s a full-sized version.

Bath Truffle in “Them Apples”: This smells amazing. It smells just like an apple! I am in awe. LoL. These bath truffles are meant to be plunked into your tub before you get in to soak. They’re more of a moisturizing product than a bubbling product. I also like to break them up and soak my feet in them before a pedicure!

Creamy Whipped Soap in “Sweet Potato & Brown Sugar”: I hate foodie scents. This, though? This I do not hate! It really does smell like sweet potatoes, and it doesn’t really have that plastic, caramel undernote that lots of foodie scents have. Plus Bumblesoaps makes an amazing whipped soap. I have one in a different scent from a previous purchase and the scent lasts for hours after you’ve used it.

It even has little marshmallows on top!

It even has little marshmallows on top!

Bubble Bar in “Brandied Pear”: Bumble’s bubble bars are like a solid bubble bath. You crumble them up under the running water and they make loads of bubbles. This Brandied Pear scent is so nice, and it goes really well with Them Apples. The pear scent is the strongest, with a tiny bit of apple.

Snowflake Soap in “Sweater Weather”: I am loving this scent. The soap is so pretty, too. The scent reminds me of a very expensive body wash. Of course I can’t remember the name of it! This one has juniper, sage, eucalyptus, and all sort of other things. You would think that would smell like a grandma, but it’s a really clean scent!

Lip Scrub in “Marshmallow Fluff”: This scrub feels pretty moisturizing and it has a nice, sweet scent to it.

Whipped Body Butter in “Tinsel”: I was afraid I’d hate this scent, but I don’t. It’s a “blend of pomegranate, strawberries, and raspberries, with a subtle hint of fresh peppermint leaves and fresh vanilla.” First of all, the formula feels really great. Secondly, I can’t believe I like the scent with the peppermint in it, but I do. It’s like a little kick at the end of the scent! You smell of the great foods, and then *kick!* a little peppermint for your nose.

All in all, I like this box a ton! I will use all of the products (except maybe the hand sanitizer), which has never happened to me before, even with the previous Bumblesoaps seasonal box. Normally I get a box like this and I like maybe half of it, but I really do like all but one of the scents, and even that one I don’t totally hate.

More Mystery Bags!

Again with the grab bags! I’ll discuss three of them that I have recently acquired.

This time, the bag is from Bubble Girl Soap Co. on etsy. This shop has tons of adorable, brightly colored products like sugar scrubs, lotions, and even Doctor Who TARDIS-shaped soaps. The mystery bag was $10 and claimed to have $20 worth of products in it. The products can pretty much be any sort of bath item: sugar scrubs, bubble bath, fun shaped glycerin soaps, etc. They also allow you to chose whether you want no men’s products, no kid’s products, or no men’s and kid’s products in your mystery bag. Neat! I chose no men’s products.

This one had:

  • Two lotions, one of which smells just like cake batter.
  • Two lip balms of very nice quality
  • Three beautifully colored small glycerin soaps in wonderful fruity scents

They're so pretty in person.

They’re so pretty in person.

  • And one shower gel/bubble bath

All in all, not bad for $10 plus shipping! Everything was very nice quality. I didn’t care for the smell of the lotion, but that can easily be given away as a gift.

Another mystery bag! I went nuts, but some of them were on sale (like this one). I got this mystery bag for $5 from Sunkid Gifts on etsy. The site’s description really had zero information on what to expect, but an internet friend recommended the brand and their mystery bags.

I paid $5 for the bag, so I wasn’t expecting much. I got a quite large sugar scrub in a pumpkin scent. Not my favorite, but it’s giftable. I also got one wax tart piece in a very, very, very strong bakery scent. It reminded me of those cinnamon + applesauce “cookies” kids make as Christmas decorations. If there was a chance for non-season items in this bag, then it’d be a better deal for me. Still, I can easily gift the scrub to someone else.

Sakura Bath and Body on etsy had a grab bag. (If you’ve read my last few posts, you’ll see I went on a grab bag kick.) I managed to snag the last one. The description says that it contains $20 worth of products for $10. The products may have wonky labels, dents, or dings.

This bag came with:

bathstuff11

  • One lotion in Rainforest scent. The lotion is a little too oily for me, and the scent is pretty masculine.
  • Bath salts in a cranberry scent
  • And a pumpkin coffee sugar scrub

All in all, it wasn’t a bad deal at all. It’s just I probably won’t use any of the items I got. The bath salts and lotion I can give away, but I guess I’ll have to use the scrub since I’m not sure I can think of anyone who won’t mind the handwritten label in a gift. I have no problem with handwritten labels for myself, but as gifts I just never know how the recipient will react.

In total, I spent $25 plus shipping to get all of these. Was it a good deal? Eh, kind of. If I could/would use all of the items it would have been a great deal. As is, I have lots of things to give away to friends, at least!

Fresh Sugar: Dare to Bare Sugar Lip Ritual Kit

I recently purchased this Fresh Sugar Kit from Sephora (while they had a sale coupon, of course!).

The kit contains:

  • Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy – This has a very watery consistency, which was honestly off-putting at first. However, once it soaked in, I could feel my lips get softer. It’s supposed to be a nightly serum, not a replacement for lip balm, so I think it does its job just fine.
  • Sugar Lip Polish – I’ve tried other sugar lip scrubs, and this one is pretty much the same as any other. I will say that it has a better consistency than LUSH’s sugar scrubs, which is nice. Fresh’s scrub has a bit more oil in it.
  • Sugar Shine Lip Treatment – I’m not big on lip gloss, but I like this one. It’s a totally neutral color and I didn’t find it to be obnoxiously sticky like some glosses can be.
  • Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 – This is basically tinted lip balm. The color is a nice, bright coral-pink that gives you just a hint of color. I like that it’s very moisturizing.
  • Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment  – This, which is probably the most boring item in the box, is my favorite! It’s even more moisturizing than the tinted version. I find that if I put this on after the Lip Serum, my lips feel very moisturized the next morning.

All in all, I really enjoyed this kit. I’m not sure it’s quite worth the money ($45 retail), but I liked being about to try a handful of different Fresh lip products. If you can get it on sale or at least get some of those awesome Sephora holiday sample bags with it, then I’d say it’s probably worth the purchase price.

Coupons, etc.

Hi, all!

Popsugar has two coupons out right now. I chose the Turkish towel option because I’ve been wanting one for a while and I figure that even if I don’t care for everything in the box, I’m sure I can get gifts out of it and I’ll have a nice new towel. I gave a friend the cute Blue Avocado foldable tote bag from May’s box (I think!) as a sort of bachelorette/honeymoon gift, and it was a big hit at her party! Plus she used it to carry out some of the other presents in, so it came in handy very quickly.

  • GWPMSA” will get you a free Turkish towel with you subscription order. The code expires on August 8 or whenever the first 500 uses are gone.
  • JULY14SELECT” will get you $10 off of your subscription order. Disclaimer: I tried this one first (while still in July), and it didn’t work for me, but I’ve seen it work for other people just fine. I’m not sure why this is. Since it’s now August, it might not work at all now, but you could give it a try.

In a few days, my first Memebox will ship out! I’m so, so excited. I can’t wait. I’ll definitely review them on here. I’m getting:

  • My Cute Wishlist Box
  • The Zero Cosmetics + Waterproof Makeup value set
  • And the Girls’ Night Out Box

Memebox has released a few spoilers in the emails they send. My Cute Wishlist is going to have this item in it! (Spoiler alert!!)

Link to product’s Amazon page here! It comes in three colors, and the email said that it will be random which one you get in your box.

Also, my Rainbow Honey subscription box should be shipping soon! I can’t wait to see what is in this month’s bag.

EOpenmarket Lucky Box II Haul

I’ve never really done a haul post here before, so here it goes!

I ordered this Lucky Box II from EOpenmarket. The site seems a little sketchy, so I ordered through PayPal just in case. I got my package about two and a half weeks or so after ordering! Basically, it’s a large sampler box of various Korean cosmetics and skin care products!

It came with a ton of stuff, including this very large sampler kit of Etude House’s “I’m Blooming” line. It came with minis of the cleansing water, lighter cleanser, heavier cleanser, moisturizing mist, and a BB cream.

The biggest sampler.

The biggest sampler.

photo 3

Here’s a swatch of the BB cream on my wrist.

It also had these slightly smaller (but still large) samples:

  • 1 Aloe sheet type mask by the brand “It’s Skin.’ It looks really nice, and I enjoy sheet masks, so I will at least give it a go.
  • Snail Bee High Content Serum – I’m not sure if I want to try this on my skin. I’ve heard of other people having really good results with the snail serums, but it’s the bee part that scares me.
  • Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream – I hold the same reservations as the previous one.

The small samples by brand

  • Missha for Men

o   Science Activator Ampoule

  • Mizon

o   Bee Venom Calming Fresh Cream (Still scared of this!)

o   Crystal Miracle Face Cream (x3)

  • Skin79

o   Super BB (green container) (x3)

o   Super BB VIP Gold Collection (x3)

o   BB Cleanser (x3)

  • Tony Moly

o   Floria Whitening Capsule Essence (x3)

o   Aqua Aura Rich Cream

o   Aqua Aura Moisture Cream (I’m not sure what’s the difference between them.)

o   Pure Aura Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream

o   I’m Real Avocado Rich Cream (x2)

o   I’m Real Tea Tree Sebum & Pore Lotion

o   Tomatox Magic Massage Pack (x2)

o   Red Appletox Honey Cream (x3)

  • Skin Food

o   Black Egg Pore Primer (Luckily it comes out clear. I was a little scared!) (x3)

o   Black Pomegranate Emulsion

o   Good Afternoon Honey Black Tea (I’ll have to ask some other people if they know what this one is. I’m not sure.) (x2)

o   Broccoli Cleansing Foam

o   Royal Honey Mask

  • Holika Holika

o   Good Cera, Moisturization Barrier

  • Etude House

o   Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam. I’m glad to get to try this without having to buy the big thing of it.

o   Moistfull Super Collagen Cream (x2)

o   Fresh Cherry Lip Tint (x4 in light pink, x1 in red)

o   Precious Mineral BB Cream (x4)

o   Nymph Aura Volumer (Again, I’m going to ask to find out what this is!)

o   Face Conditioning Cream (x2)

o   Correct & Care CC Cream Silky (x3)

And that’s it from the sampler pack! I paid $19.99 for the kit, including shipping. I think it’s a great way to try out some products I may not otherwise be able to get a hold of. I’m excited to try out all of the BB and CC creams and find one that’s perfect for me. I’ve been using Missha BB Cream in #21, but it has a tinge of a grayness to it that I have to cover up with some very lightly tinted setting powder. I’ve also been using the “I’m Blooming” set since I got it, and I love it. My face feels nice and the cleansers don’t leave that terrible tight feeling that some others do.

Subscription Overload

Oh dear. I think I may have gone overboard with this stuff. I signed up for several new boxes recently.

  • Birchbox – I’ve been burned by them before, but their point system seems worth trying them out again. I took a peek at my box onl(it just shipped) and I have seven items. Hopefully that means I get to get points for reviewing all seven items! That’d be awesome.
  • SocialBliss Style Box – Last month’s box looked SO good to me (see Rambling of a Suburban Mom’s post about it right here.) Each SocialBliss box seems to contain one purse/clutch, a piece of jewelry, a makeup item, and some kind of accessory, at the very least. It’s $47.90 (that includes the shipping price), so I’m a little scared. That’s big chunk of money to spend on what is basically surprise. Their Facebook page is saying that this month’s box will have over $200 worth of items in it! Also, I had to contact their customer service after I placed my order, and they got back to me very quickly, were friendly, and answered all of my questions. One of my pet peeves with subscription boxes (and in general) is poor customer service or rude customer service representatives.
  • SquareHue – Honestly, I don’t need any more nail polish at all, but I couldn’t pass this up. SquareHue had a coupon (“BOGO”) where if you purchase a subscription, they’ll also send you a previous collection for free. I had to do it! Or at least I keep telling myself that.

On the plus side, my Orange Glad Dessert Box will be here Saturday. Perfect timing for my diet “cheat day.” I figure I’ll keep the things that I love, and then give the rest of it to my parents. That way it won’t just be sitting around for me to eat, and they get to enjoy a subscription of mine for once. Although not a subscription box, just a regular order, my Fortune Cookie Soap order will also be here Saturday. I didn’t order much, just a sugar scrub and a body lotion, since it’s almost skirt wearing season and my legs look terrible. I’ve never used their sugar scrub, so I’ll see how that goes!

This feels like so much stuff, but I’ve had to cut back financially in a lot of ways lately, and this is the first time in a while that I’ve genuinely been able to spend some money on things like this. I hate that I feel like I need to explain myself about that, but I don’t want to seem like some kind of hoarder. LoL

New Perfume

I just found out about a solid perfume called AROMAS. I’m really excited.

They’re solid perfume that comes in stick form, like chapstick. I’ve used solid perfume before, but its always come in little pots that you have to dip your finger in. This way, you just unroll the perfume and apply it. Neat! I wasn’t sure which scent to choose, but they have sampler packs, so I got the biggest one they have. It was a little less than $13 including shipping (all the way from Australia!), and comes with seven samples. You get to choose which ones you’d like, and apparently they’re good for many uses, so you can get a feel for how the scents work for you. I’m looking forward to smelling Almaty Apple. The website says that people find that it smells like DKNY’s “Be Delicious,” which I do like. It’d be nice to have a much cheaper alternative to that!

Edit to add: I just ordered this a few hours ago, and they already sent me a “your order has shipped” email. Awesome!

Impatience!

Whenever I order a new something, I get so impatient about it. I check my tracking information way too many times. Does anyone else do this? It drives me crazy, but I keep doing it!

I have more packages coming soon(ish) than I have in a while.

  • Sephora sale order
  • Popsugar – I hope this one ships soon. I’ve seen that people who ordered before the sale code (now expired) already had theirs shipped.
  • Orange Glad Sweet Box – I’ve never received this subscription before, but I’ve heard great things about it. Their website says it’s supposed to ship out the second week of the month, so that should be soon! There was a coupon a while back, so I ordered myself a gift subscription. (And I may have chosen the “double the treats” option…)

I got two of those Diamond Candle candles (link), and they arrived yesterday. These are the worst for an impatient person! They’re candles that have a ring inside. You light the candle, wait for it to melt to the point that the little ring package is showing, blow it out and wait for it to cool a bit, then grab the package with a pair of tweezers. The ring is in a plastic bag that’s wrapped in foil, so no wax gets into the cracks of the jewelry. It takes quite a long time for the candle to melt down to where the ring is. Most of it is costume jewelry, but their whole gimmick is that you could potentially find a real diamond ring in your candle. I bought them mostly for the fun of it, and because I love candles.

The ring I got from the first candle is cute, at least. I don’t love the heart on it (you can sort of see it on the right side of the photo), but the heart is hard to see when I’m wearing it. The only bad thing about this candle was the smell! I picked Watermelon Wedge and Sunwashed. Watermelon Wedge smells like watermelon bubblegum. I’m not a fan of overly sweet smells, and this one is super sweet. The Sunwashed scent smells way better to me. It has a “clean laundry” smell. I haven’t burned that one yet, but I’m excited to see what’s in it.

Watermelon candle ring.

Popsugar Sale!

*This post has referral links.

Edit: Apparently the code no longer works. That was quick. It was only up for two days total, I believe. Hope you all got a box if you wanted one!

Attention all subscription box lovers!

Popsugar Must Have Box has a sale code right now for April’s box. The code is: CHANNEL7. This gets you 50% off the regular price! (Also, fair warning, the Popsugar website has a sort of irritating auto-play video!) The box includes free shipping. After this month, it does auto-bill you each month at the regular price, so if you sign up and don’t want another month, make sure to cancel before next month.

There are spoilers for April’s box on the web, compiled by the ever-so-nice Ramblings of a Suburban Mom, in picture format. I don’t want to hotlink her image, so see her post here.

The box is supposed to contain around $130 worth of products, including (SPOILER alert) a fantastic Too Faced eyeshadow palette, among other things! That alone made me sign up as fast as I could. I’m not sure how long this box will be in stock, since it seems like a good one!

My referral link is http://popsu.gr/rBcT, if you’re interested. (Of course, you are certainly not obligated to go through my referral link if you don’t want!)
